Photo challenge in 2015

Photograph looking up towards the Eiffel Tower, Paris

Eiffel Tower, Paris

Looking back at 2014, it’s been a fun year photographing many new places and some I have been to before.  On a recent trip to Disneyland and Paris (where I have previously visited), I took less general photos and more personal ones.  Conversely, when exploring new places, I photographed more generally which may be an obvious observation, however, next year I intend to think more before I shoot (why would this make a good photo?).  Over the last year, I have also enjoyed taking photos of family, friends and special events which I hope we will look back on and value in the years to come.

I feel my photography has improved and hope this continues in 2015.  Therefore, I have decided to challenge myself to photograph one theme per month, some I have done before and others are completely new.  For each theme, I intend to post 4 of the best photos on this blog, I expect some months will be better than others but I thought it was worth attempting.  So the themes will be as follows:

  • Abstract
  • Birds
  • Cars
  • Cityscapes
  • Colours (finding specific colours)
  • Long exposure
  • Night skies
  • Light painting
  • Portraits
  • Self portrait
  • Street
  • Water droplets
I will pick one theme at random on the first of the month and hopefully post photos by the last day of the month.
Best of luck to all in 2015.
